Snowbreeze 2.8b5 Jailbreaks iOS 5 Beta 5 Using A Windows PC

Jailbreaking any iOS 5 beta version is quite easy and straight forward when you have a Mac, but it can turn close to impossible on Windows unless work is done. Lucky for you, Sn0wbreeze has just been updated to version 2.8b5 and it allows you to easily Jailbreak your iOS device using Windows.

It'll work on any of the following devices on the list:
- iPhone 3GS (old & new boot roms)
- iPhone 4 (GSM)
- iPhone 4 (CDMA)
iPad original
- iPod Touch 3rd generation
- iPod Touch 4th generation

And, on a side note, this version of Sn0wbreeze allows:
Non-developers to pass the UDID check and “hacktivate” their devices. It will also remove the “beta timer”Apple has so you won’t be forced to upgrade or plug into iTunes if you don’t update by Apple’s beta deadlines. TiPb DOES NOT recommend anyone do this. iOS 5 is in beta for a reason — it’s not ready for mainstream use on your daily phone. It will frustrate you. Things won’t work. Apps will crash or not function. If you’re not a developer who needs to test iOS 5 SDK apps, or Jailbreak developer testing out next generation tweaks, you’ll be happier if you stay away until the final version is ready.

So if it just became interesting for you, then download this new version of Sn0wbreeze and Happy Jailbreaking!

Telus Cuts iPhone 4 to $99, Androids Go Free; Fall Preparations?

Whether carriers want to accept it or not, it's likely that they know enough about the iPhone 5 launch to prepare by disposing old units before the new release comes to town. Canadian Carrier Telus has just lowered the price of its entry-level 16GB iPhone 4 to just $99 and the promotion even extends to include all their Android phones for free. All this just points out to them preparing for a big hit coming with the next generation devices being released in the fall, which include the most anticipated iPhone 5. The deal ends on September 7th, so you might as well hurry up if you live in Canada.

They're offering the lG Optimus Back And the Nexus S White for free after a $51 plan and the usual and crazy three-year Canadian contract. The deal also includes the INQ Cloud Touch, HTC Status and Motorola Defy after a crazy three-year agreement. Given the iPhone 4 is the only device they're not offering for free, it sounds logical that they're already having low inventories as Apple prepares for the next best thing.

Apple To Invest $1 Billion In Sharp For Future iPhone Displays?

We did hear rumors of Apple having problems with LG and Samsung in being able to deliver the amount of displays needed to power the iPad 2back in the day, but we didn't think that would cause such a major change in strategy and suppliers for Apple. As it stands, a note from MF Global FXA Securities outlined by Reutersmentions that Apple may invest $1 Billion in Sharp in order to secure the amount of displays it needs for future devices, which we all know are the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

According to the note:
We think it is highly possible that Apple will make an investment in Sharp’s Kameyama plant to the tune of around $1 billion in order to secure stable supply of screens for iPhones and iPads, analyst David Rubenstein said in the note.

As Apple's relationship with Samsung deteriorates, this could prove to be true. Apple has the great advantage of being able to sit on a $75 Billion cash reserve, which is even larger than what the US Government handles, so that's why it's so easy for them to land great deals in parts and ensure they'll receive full priority treatment in deliveries

T-Mobile Bold 9900 Airs Today For Business, Aug.31st For Everyone

After a long awaited official confirmation, T-Mobile has finally spilled the beans on a Press Release where they launch the BlackBerry Bold 9900. It'll be available for exclusive pre-sale to all T-Mobile business customers, and as expected, nationwide on August 31st for the rest of us mortals.

The new BlackBerry Bold 9900 intends to become a true mobile solution for business customers and consumers a like, but we're still having a hard time understanding that price tag. $299.99 after a $50 mail-in-rebate card and a two year contract is steeper than all the other premium smartphone offerings in the market. Verizon is selling the same device for $250 and there's no doubt it's still expensive when compared to much better sellers like the iPhone 4 or every HTC and Samsung device sold on either carrier. Surely it is T-Mobile's first ever 4G BlackBerry, but the browser capabilities on the BlackBerry 7 OS are far from proving worthy of being a feature worth paying an extra premium. No word on NFC just yet, but we'll be looking out for that.

Hopefully, RIM's idea of making the device as exclusive and desirable as possible won't backfire on them. I must admit I do have interest for it, but I'd rather wait for them to drop the price after slow sales, then to buy it right now.
