Skype For Windows Phone Allegedly Still On Track For This Fall

Initial Skype plans for Windows Phone go way back to this year's MIX when an application was promised for the Redmond platform. Since then Microsoft acquired Skype for $8.5 billion in cash, a deal that was not long ago officially finalized.

It appears that the application which will bring videocalling to Windows Phones is still on track for a release this year, according to recent reports. It's still unknown whether it will be a stand-alone application of a software update with the Skype bit deeply integrated (but according to what we already know, it won't have such a huge People's Hub integration at the beginning). As for the wave-one and two devices without a front-facer, you'll hopefully be able to do voice calls.

Steve Jobs: "I'm Going to Destroy Android" (Biography)

"Steve Jobs" by Walter Isaacson is the upcoming biography of a great man forced to leave too early, a book that will be published on Monday. The Associated Press managed to grab an early copy from where we learn that the man was no Android fan at all, beyond competition.

After Eric Schmidt left Apple, where he was a board member between 2006 to 2009, for Google and January 2010 saw an HTC Android device, Jobs considered it "grand theft" as he saw many popular iPhone features being included. "I will spend my last dying breath if I need to, and I will spend every penny of Apple's $40 billion in the bank, to right this wrong," Jobs said. "I'm going to destroy Android, because it's a stolen product. I'm willing to go thermonuclear war on this."

After the Apple-Google lawsuit was well on its way, Steve Jobs told Eric Schmidt, while talking about a settlement: "I don't want your money. If you offer me $5 billion, I won't want it. I've got plenty of money. I want you to stop using our ideas in Android, that's all I want".

Nokia Sabre Shows Up Once Again, Flashes Its Hardware Buttons

The dust didn't even settle after the first picture of the alleged Nokia Sabre surfaced showing off a white Windows Phone and we've got another image of the device in the wild, this time showing off some physical buttons.

As we implied with the occasion of yesterday's photo -- when we said that Mr. Blurrycam burned the image and the buttons are not visible -- theNokia Sabre pictured above does indeed have its compulsory Redmond-required buttons. Good thing is that they're physical and not capacitive so you'll no longer jump out of a game accidentally. Now we just have to wait for Nokia World to start in order for the Sabre to strip out of its protective prototype dress.
