LG Thrill 4G AT&T Launch Reportedly Delayed

LG's Thrill 4G will be the cheapest 3D smartphone around (not there's much in the way of competition right now) when it lands on AT&T. We were expecting it for August 7, based on previousrumors and leaks, but as is all too common when you're dealing with smartphone releases, it now looks like that date is going to get pushed back to late August.

A leaked Radio Shack notice informs its employees that AT&T will be delaying availability of the Thrill 4G, and as a result, the smartphone won't be ready until two weeks later on August 21. While the memo only refers to Radio Shack's sales of the phone, we wouldn't be surprised to see AT&T's launch equally delayed; there's nothing here to suggest this would be specific to the retailer.

Since the launch is pushed back, Radio Shack is extending the period for Thrill 4G pre-orders through August 15; slap down $50 and you can reserve one of the handsets, which will only run you an additional $30 when you go to pick up the phone on the 21st.

Does the low cost make the Thrill 4G worth waiting for, even with a bit of a delay, or do the HTC EVO 4G'sspecs make the Thrill 4G seem a whole lot less attractive?
