Earlier this week, we heard one of the most interesting rumors yet to tackle Samsung'supcoming Galaxy S III, claiming that the handset would have a now-unheard-of 1080p display. If that turns out being accurate, we'll be looking at one of the crispest, highest-pixel-density screens we've ever come across. With the potential for the hardware to be so very impressive, we're anxious to get full details on the phone straight from the horse's mouth. After hope of seeing the phone at the MWC fizzled, we've been expecting Samsung to host its own media event in the near future to announce the GS3, followed shortly thereafter by its release. Last month, we heard rumors of a May release, but today a new report is out claiming that Samsung will announce the phone this month, and put it up for sale in April.
This news is attributed to sources within an agency that does marketing for Samsung's products. Supposedly, they're working on a campaign for the UK that will be tied to this summer's Olympics, but before then, Samsung's supposed to release the phone in April. As for when Samsung might be planning the phone's official unveiling, we've heard of at least one event on the schedule, for late in the month in France. That would be an unusual place to announce the phone, so maybe Samsung has another event in mind, of which we just haven't yet learned.
