MobileMe Users Get 25GB Of iCloud Storage After The Transition

We knew Apple had to do something for all of usMobileMe users. Its great to see iCloud becoming a free service, but I must admit I did feel ripped off after paying $100 for the now deceased MobileMe. As of iOS 5 beta 5, developers are given all the instructions needed for the optional transition to iCloud that will publicly become an option this fall when iOS 5 gets released.

You're not obligated to migrate MobileMe with iCloud and can actually get a different @me.com email address just by setting up iCloud. The advantage of choosing to migrate, is that on top of the free 5GB of storage included in iCloud, you'll have the added bonus of 20 extra GB of storage, which you initially paid for in MobileMe.
We're not sure if this will continue after MobileMe gets fully cancelled by Apple next year, but migrating is something we do recommend to anybody that owns more than one iOS device. 5GB of storage for your settings and App content is more than enough for one device, but can be challenging for those who own more.

Foursquare for Windows Phone, BlackBerry Updated

Foursquare for Windows Phone has just been updated to version 2.4 and, while the previous refresh brought performance improvements and a Live Tile fix, the current update is listed as only bringing "minor fixes".

On your BlackBerry, Foursquare has reached version 3.1.5 which bring some user interfaceimprovements, nothing major like the previous update which brought BBM to the application. There's no changelog to go with the update so you're on your own to spot the changes, but its always nice to have the latest version running.

Motorola XT531 is a new low-cost Android smartphone

A slim and budget friendly Gingerbread smartphone to hit global markets in the Fall.

There’s no doubt that Motorola is not living its best moment: with the exception of the USA, where carriers prefer it over foreign manufacturers, smartphone sales are not at levels the company hoped and even the Atrix is not impressing customers. That’s probably why the former telephone giant is trying to play the card of low-cost phones, and after the XT316 Fire launches the Motorola XT531, which is basically the same phone without physical keyboard.

Featuring a 3.5-inch HVGA display, a 800MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 512MB of RAM and 512MB of ROM, a 5Mpx camera with flash, a front-facing VGA camera and the new Moto Switch UI, which recently replaced the MotoBlur UI, the device will be available in the Fall branded as Motorola Fire XT in Europe and Asia and as Motorola Spice XT in Latin America. No word on the final price, which should better be low enough if the company wants to compete with similar terminals by Huawei and ZTE.
