Telus 4G Samsung Galaxy S II X Coming Soon

4G Samsung Galaxy S II X is a strange name but you might recognize it as the once referred to Samsung Hercules. Telus has put a "coming soon" tag on the phone which is now online over at thecarrier's website.

There's no exact release date shows on the page except for the "coming soon" text and there is no pricing revealed either. The specs on the other hand are there and they match with previous ones mentioned: 1.5Ghz dual-core CPU, 4.5-inch SuperAMOLED Plus WVGA display, WiFi with hotspot, eight-megapixel camera with full HD video recording capability, two-megapixel front facing webcam, and Android 2.3 Gingerbread on board.

HTC Vigor: First Press Shot

With a rumored dual-core 1.5GHz processor, LTE compatibility, and amazing 720x1280 HD display, the Gingerbread-powered HTC Vigor promises to be one of the most powerful smartphones of all time when it hits Verizon alongside the HTC Rhyme/Bliss. It's also said to offer Beats Audio technology, though the first in-the-wild shots didn't portray the Beats logo.

Vigor could launch as early as HTC's September 20th NYC event, although there are upcoming candidates for each carrier that could also be the focus (Ruby, Holiday, Kingdom). While several sources claim that the handset will go by Thunderbolt 2 at retail, we're seeing evidence that Vigor will in fact be the final branding.

We can't help but get excited at what might well be the first HD cellphone, and you probably should be too.

Alleged iPhone 5 Screen Protector Larger Than iPhone 4 Itself

Since there are contradictory rumors about thenext iPhone (some say it will sport a larger screen, others say it will be very hard to distinguish from the iPhone 4), we'll leave this up to you. Apparently, a screen protector for the upcoming Apple-phone has been leaked.

As you can see in the image below, it is larger than the iPhone 4 itself. This means that the next Apple-phone will not only have a larger screen but it will be, on the whole, larger than the current Apple device. Also, you can notice the rumoredhome button which appears to be redesigned. We've heard of a larger, elongated home button before, and it appears that the screen protector is just giving that one away.

If indeed this will fit the next iPhone, we hope Apple managed to shave off a couple of microns or millimeters from the thickness to make up for the increased tallness and width.

HTC Runnymede To Be Launched As HTC Bass?

Looks like HTC is going to launch the Runnymede as the HTC Bass, at least according to retailer Handtec that has a product page for the phone. We've seen the HTC Sensation XE being launched recently and, given the Beats orientation of the Runnymede, "Bass" would make more sense than Runnymede.

We've seen official press renders of the phone, which is white-colored like the HTC Radar, and we've mentioned the specs rumored. It will reportedly ship with a 1.5GHz single-core processor, 4.7-inch QVGA display, 768MB of RAM, 16GB of storage, eight-megapixel main camera, 1.3-megapixel webcam, and it will run Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread with HTC Sense 3.5 on top of it (like the HTC Rhyme).

We're guessing it will also ship with some Beats by Dr. Dre in-ear buds or phones, just like the Sensation XE, and we hope special audio decoding and playback software is included to offer the full Beats experience.

P.S.: Anyone else noted the relatively large lens on the back camera? Can we hope for an improved camera coming with the Bass?

HTC Rhyme/Bliss Press Renders Surface

The image above is an official press render of the HTC Rhyme/Bliss. We first heard of the Bliss as a female-oriented smartphone from HTC and later on we learned that it is probably one and the same with the HTC Rhyme.

Real life pictures of the phone actually appeared prior to the press renders but once these renders are out there, a launch is usually imminent. The phone will reportedly have a 3.7-inch WVGA screen, a single-core 1GHz processor, 768MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, five-megapixel camera with 720p video recording capability, VGA front-facer, and will be powered by a 1,600mAh battery.

The picture above shows the new HTC Sense on top of Android. It is Sense 3.5 that got leaked together with the real life pictures of the phone. It will bring some goodies like the ability to remove home screen panels, a face-lifted browser, new home screen button design, widgets and animations plus more.
