You Can Now Rent Movies In the U.K. On Android Market

Movies on the Google Android Market are showing up if you are in the U.K. This comes almost a month after Mountain View flipped the switch on movies for the people of Canada.

In May Google announced that users are able to rent movies through the Android Market. After Canada, British users are already starting to reportedly see movies when the access the Android Market either via their phones or on the web. Redsn0w 0.9.9b7 Dramatically Reduces Time Needed For Jailbreak

The Dev-Team has updated the well-known redsn0w package to version 0.9.9b7 and it brings a major improvement: instead of waiting 210 seconds for the jailbreak to happen, the time needed has been reduced by 60 percent.

You will only have to wait 80 seconds or so in order to jailbreak your iPhone (iOS device) using Redsn0w 0.9.9b7. This is now possible due to the fact that the tool is "no longer "stashing" the applications by default during the redsn0w run". However, on the downside, you'll have to wait a little bit more when you launch Cydia so the overall time is pretty much the same. "You can choose whether you want redsn0w or Cydia to stash in the Preferences pane." 

Skype For Windows Phone Allegedly Still On Track For This Fall

Initial Skype plans for Windows Phone go way back to this year's MIX when an application was promised for the Redmond platform. Since then Microsoft acquired Skype for $8.5 billion in cash, a deal that was not long ago officially finalized.

It appears that the application which will bring videocalling to Windows Phones is still on track for a release this year, according to recent reports. It's still unknown whether it will be a stand-alone application of a software update with the Skype bit deeply integrated (but according to what we already know, it won't have such a huge People's Hub integration at the beginning). As for the wave-one and two devices without a front-facer, you'll hopefully be able to do voice calls.
