Nokia N9 Software Tour (Video)

Nokia has built the N9 without any buttons, capacitive or hardware. Having MeeGo 1.2 Harmattan at its core, the experience of the N9 is based on a simple gesture: the swipe. That's all you need to operate the device.

It's not Android, iOS or Windows Phone but it definitely has a couple of accents and similarities with all the aforementioned operating systems. Overall the phone seems snappy but the biggest problem with MeeGo (aside from the fact that Nokia abandoned it) is the lack of applications in the Nokia Store. We take a brief look at the experience Nokia delivers on the N9 with MeeGo 1.2 on top of it. Don't forget to also check out ourunboxing videohardware tour and camera testposts.

Fully Functional Siri Ported to the Apple iPhone 4

Ever since Apple introduced the iPhone 4S and its appealing voice-controlled assistant, Siri, developers were working on porting the new feature to the iPhone 4. After great news that Siri will not need jailbreak to run on last year's Apple-phone we now get a demo of a fully working iPhone 4 port.

Developer Steven Troughton-Smith shows off a fully functional Siri on an iPhone 4, side-by-side with its newer cousin, the iPhone 4S. One of the main problems with iPhone 4 ports was the ability to make Siri connect to Apple's servers. As you can see in the video below, the problem has been solved. According to the developer, contrary to what was rumored earlier, an iPhone 4S jailbreak was indeed necessary to port the proper files to the iPhone 4 and make Siri fully functional.

HTC Mozart Update Delivers Internet Sharing Hotspot Mode

Earlier this week we've seen LG deliver its "tethering" update to Optimus 7 wave-one Windows Phones proving that the hardware capabilities are there and just need to be enabled. On a similar note, HTC is reportedly rolling out an Internet Sharing update for the HTC Mozart.

The region for the roll-out seems to be India, according to reports, and it adds that certain "Internet Sharing" option in the Settings page, allowing you to turn your Windows Phone in a portable hotspot. In contrast, there were some Mozart updates that did not include the tethering functionality and all this seems to be depending on the specific carrier and whether it allows for hotspot features or not

Lenovo Windows Phone Pictured?

We're not sure you remember when last year Yang Tianyang -- Microsoft's Communications Sector Director for the Greater China Region -- saidMicrosoft was in talks with manufacturers like Lenovo, ZTE and Huawei with regards to Windows Phone 7 handset production. ZTE launched the Tania and we're probably looking at Lenovo's shot at the Windows Phone game.

No, you're not looking at the Samsung Focus and not even at the Google Nexus S. This is allegedly the Lenovo S2, the company's first take at Windows Phone. If we could see the required Windows buttons we'd be sold but since we can't, we'll just leave it in the "R" category.

Anyways, the screen shows what appears to be Windows Phone Mango and wishful thinking makes us believe the small hump on the right bottom side (first and last pic) is a dedicated camera button. We tampered a bit with the last picture to reveal what was on the screen and we could see a Windows button (and no other) plus something far from the default Camera application. At least there's a front-facer there!

Apple Contacting iPhone 4S Owners Trying To Fix Battery Issues

If last year there was the "antenna-gate" regarding the iPhone 4, this year seems to be the "battery-gate" concerning the new iPhone 4S. Many users are complaining of poor battery life and Apple is contacting them for more details.

According to recent reports, Apple engineers are contacting iPhone 4S owners and even asking some of them to install diag and monitoring programs on the device trying to figure out what the problem is. Apple doesn't seem to know what the source of the problem is and various reports point fingers towards either one of iCloud, Notification Center, Location Services, and Reminders. According to other claims, the battery drain is directly related to the Data Connection and things appear to be normal while on WiFi. Are you experiencing such problems or have you been contacted by Apple?
