Sony LT29i Hayabusa Makes a Blurrycam Return?

It looks like Sony's Xperia Ion is nearly about to get here, but that's only one of may Xperia handsets Sony's got out on the horizon. We looked at a picture last month of what was supposed to be the company's model LT29i, which has picked up the codename Hayabusa. We didn't get to see very much then, but the proposed specs for the phone sure gave us reason to be excited for the handset's arrival, supposedly packing one of the new MSM8960 Pro chips with an upgraded GPU. Today we get a slightly-closer look at what's supposed to be the very same LT29i.

While you might initially dismiss it as some lens-based fish-eyeing, apparently the Hayabusa will actually feature slightly bowed contours down its long edges. Looking back at the last pic of the phone, you can almost make out the same styling, but it's much more prominent in this new image, horribly blurry though it may be. That would be an interesting choice, and one that seems to go contrary to mainstream phonedesign, but we can imagine how it might work pretty well.

We've heard Q3 2012 mentioned for when the Hayabusa might launch, arriving as the Xperia GX. Sony had it on an old roadmap for July, but there's no telling if those plans are still on-track. With a suggested off-contract price north of $600, you might want to start saving now.
