Motorola Droid RAZR Pre-Orders To Ship By November 10

Ever since Motorola announced the Droid RAZR, we've been trying to divine its release date. Right before the event that formally announced the phone, we heard a rumor of its planned arrival for November 10. When it was time to finally unveil the phone, though, all we learned was that pre-orders would begin tomorrow, October 27, with the phone finally becoming available at an unspecified time in November. With pre-orders about to begin, Verizon's put out a statement announcing them, as well as offering a little bit more certainty about when the RAZR find its way into the hands of customers.

While there's still no hard-and-fast release date specified, now Verizon is saying that deliveries of the RAZR to users who get in their pre-orders will ship no later than November 10. That sort-of confirms what we heard earlier about that date, but it seems from Verizon's unwillingness to just say "it will be out on the 10th" that the carrier would prefer to get the RAZR our even sooner, but may be lacking guarantees from Motorola about what kind of stock levels will be available, when.

We don't know if they reflect the start of retail availability, or more pre-orders, but we've seen leaked MAP lists show the Galaxy Nexus and HTC Rezound going up for sale on November 10, as well; perhaps Verizon is just hoping to get the initial push of RAZR orders taken care of before turning its attention to those launches.

The Droid RAZR will run you just under $300 when ordered with a new two-year service contract. Pre-orders will begin at 8 a.m. tomorrow.
