Nokia Announces White MeeGo-Powered N9, Software Update

Nokia World wasn't only about the Lumia Windows Phones and some S^40 Asha devices. The Finnish manufacturer took its time to revisit the Nokia N9, which lends its aspect to the Lumia 800, and announce a new color together with a softwareupdate

Initially announced and available in pink, cyan and black (pretty much the colors for the Lumia 800), the MeeGo 1.2 Harmattan-powered N9 will also get a white variant (and hopefully so will the Lumia Windows Phone). It will be available this year and, opposed to the other N9 devices, it will sport a glossy finish rather than a matte one.

MeeGo fans will also be happy to find out that there will be a software update for the N9 coming this year. It will bring usability improvements such as music controls on the lock screen or closing apps by swiping them down by default (which is an option you can turn on in the current iteration) and NFC tag reading.
