iCloud Communications -- even written like "iCloud" -- is suing Apple, well, over iCloud. iCloud Communications is an Arizona-based computer communications company and claims, with documents to prove it, that the company has been using the iCloud name way before Apple launched its service on June 6. Because iCloud Communications believes that people will associate iCloud with Apple instead of their own business, it sued Cupertino.
The computer communications company is asking the court to rule in favor of Apple stopping the use of iCloud and destroying "all labels, signs, prints, insignia, letterhead, brochures, business cards, invoices and any other written or recorded material or advertisements" that use the name. That aside, for the monetary part, iCloud Communications is asking for "all profits, gains and advantages obtained fromApple's unlawful conduct" as well as "all monetary damages sustained and to be sustained <...> including lost profits and reasonable royalties."
