Samsung Galaxy S I9000 Android 2.3.4 Leaked

Samsung's Galaxy S i9000, the original model that launched so many carrier-branded variants, got an official build of Android 2.3.3 courtesy of a leak at the end of March. Now the next decimal revision is ready for the smartphone, with Android 2.3.4 leaking out.

The details in the ROM show it was compiled quite recently, a week ago on June 3. In order to get it onto your phone you'll need to use Samsung's Odin tool to flash your Galaxy S with the ROM. For now, the only available version of this build still has the bootloader attached. Don't get tempted to try your luck using it on any of the other Galaxy S-series smartphones; this code is strictly for the i9000 only.

If you're unfamiliar with using Odin to flash your phone, details are available in the Galaxy S Gingerbread firmware thread over at the XDA-Developers forums. The process isn't exactly complicated, but novices may want to ask a buddy for guidance if they're feeling apprehensive about making these kinds of modifications to their phone; that, or just wait for Samsung to release the update itself.
