HTC Hero S (Kingdom) Gets Official On US Cellular

The full picture of the HTC Hero S has been slowly coming together over the last couple weeks, first appearing as a name affiliated with the Sprint EVO Design 4G and Alltel's HTC Acquire – all three what we had been following as the HTC Kingdom. Last week, we finally got a look at the Hero S as it would be coming to US Cellular, but still hadn't learned any details regarding the phone's release. We were expecting it to launch in the relatively near future, and it turns out we didn't have much of a wait at all; US Cellular has officially announced the Hero S, set to hit stores in October.

Alongside the Hero S, US Cellular will be picking up the HTC Wildfire S and Flyer tablet. At this point, Kingdom/Hero S specs are nothing new, but US Cellular reassure us the smartphone will feature a 1.2GHz single-core Snapdragon, 768MB of RAM, a four-inch Super LCD qHD screen, and a five-megapixel rear camera with 1.3-megapixel front-facer.

After cashing-in a $100 rebate, you'll be able to take the Hero S home for just about $200 on-contract. As of now, no precise launch date has been provided, short of the note that the Hero S (along with these other HTC models new to US Cellular) will drop next month.
