iPhone 4S: 8MP OmniVision Camera, No LTE Due To Qualcomm?

The next generation iPhone will be called the iPhone 4S and contrary to previous rumors of it sporting a Sony eight-megapixel camera, it will indeed ship with an OmniVision -- same as the iPhone 4 -- camera of same sensor resolution.

The information comes from DigiTimes who report that production of iPhone 4S will begin in August and the earliest launch may be in September. Additionally, Qualcomm is reportedly at fault for missing LTE on the iPhone 4S due to problems concerning yield rates of LTE chips offered by the manufacturer. In these circumstances -- and also due to the fact that LTE would suppose a complete redesign of the iPhone 4 -- an LTE-enabled version has been pushed back to 2012.
