When evaluating Android launchers, we've looked into what sorts of customization they offer, letting us tailor out smartphones to behave precisely as we'd like. This LauncherPro release has some new options that build on that ability, like the ability to remove the background from icon labels, just displaying text-over-wallpaper, if that's to your liking. If you've got a long string of home screens to swipe through, rather than zooming out and jumping to one of your choice, you'll be able to just keep scrolling in one direction, with support for screens that loop around from end to beginning (while similar functionality existed in previous releases, 0.8.6 updates the technique to what's called "real" infinte looping). Carnales has also added the ability to install replacement icon packs, giving you the freedom to totally change how your launcher looks, with custom icons for all your apps.
Besides a few minor bug fixes, you can also look forward to some more sprightly performance when scrolling the screen. LauncherPro 0.8.6 is available now in the Android Market.
