iPhone N94 Prototype Parts Leaked; Is This the Next iPhone 4S

With so many rumors moving around about an iPhone 5, an iPhone 4S or even the possibility of an iPhone 4G, it's becoming harder and harder to asses what Apple's next move will be. Images have just surfaced of the front assembly of an N94iPhone Prototype, and if our memory serves us right, this looks just like an iPhone 4's front facing assembly. I guess the only real way to tell this apart from any current generation iPhone is the code name. Just to give you an idea, the Verizon iPhone4 was codename N92 back in the day. Probably the only difference you'll notice is the little dotted whole that sits beside the ambient light sensor above the earpiece.

This is most likely the cheaper version of the iPhone 4 that many of us are expecting, which will drop storage availability to 8GB instead from the current 16GB and 32GB configurations. According to the images, this screen belongs to an EVT1 device (Engineering Verification Test) that's dated back to March 3rd 2011. Compared to the white back panelimages we discovered recently, this front assembly was built three months before them. Sadly, the last time the sources checked the status of the N94 prototype back in July, it had still not reached DVT (Design Verification Test) stage, so it's really hard to know if these will make the final design or not.

Now don't forget there's also an N97 Prototype being mentioned all around. This is what the Wall Street Journal reported earlier this year as a tiny device, and which we're not sure if they mean slim or short by the word tiny. Whether Apple is working on bringing an iPhone 5 that's slimmer, or just evolving the iPhone 4's design for an additional year and truly bringing an iPhone Nano to the market is still hard to confirm.
