Verizon Giving Early Upgrades Ahead Of Droid Bionic & iPhone 5

Verizon subscribers rejoice as many are currently having their phone upgrade schedules moved up. This is sort of the same move that AT&T pulled last year with the iPhone 4 launch, so it's kind of interesting to wonder why it's happening in this timeframe. In some cases, the upgrades have even been moved to serve those that wouldn't be eligible for an upgrade until May 2012, so this is hot in every way.

Our biggest bet is that is Verizon's way of retaining Android customers as Motorola is planning to release their Droid Bionic next week according to most of the leaks around. We also know that an HTC Vigor and a Droid Prime are also on the list ofnext releases. Now even more interesting is the fact that the iPhone 5 is also around the corner and rumored to support Verizon on launch date. Verizon was able to activate as many as 2.3 Million iPhones last Spring after launch, which was twice as many 4g Android devices in that same period.

What ever Verizon is planning, make sure you check your upgrade eligibility status and make sure you hold-off for which ever phone you're planning to get this fall. Verizon is out to tempt you sooner than necessary, so might as well spend that benefit on the device "this year's" dreams.
