Behold The Majesty of Quad-Core Android Gaming: Shadowgun

NVIDIA's Tegra 3 will be here soon, first bringing its quad-core processing to Android tablets this summer. With a dozen GPU pipelines backing that up, all the processing power needed for some very impressive gaming should be well in place. After Tegra 3 arrives for tablets, we can hope to see it in smartphones closer to the end of the year. When it finally hits, what apps will be ready to take advantage of it? Madfinger Games wants to be among the first developers producing quad-core-optimized titles, and has its first to show off with its third-person-shooter Shadowgun.

Shadowgun will be available in builds optimized for both the dual-core Tegra 2 as well as the quad-core Tegra 3 (code named Kal-El). If we didn't already know these images were from a smartphone game, we'd be hard-pressed not to believe they're from a modern console title. Check out the rest of the available pics below; the images speak for themselves. Shadowgun should be out sometime before the end of the year.
