HTC ChaCha "Facebook Phone" Now Expected In UK By Early June

After getting word that HTC's ChaCha, one of its upcoming Android phones with heavy Facebook integration, was destined for a June release in the United Kingdom, the Amazon UK product page for the smartphone helped us narrow down that release window to June 26. While Amazon is still showing that late-June date, retailer Clove has just posted that it expects the ChaCha to arrive much sooner, with the phone set to be in stock beginning June 6.

Clove is accepting pre-orders for the ChaCha, with its dedicated Facebook button, as of now. While you'll pay a few pounds more than you would getting the smartphone through Amazon, that doesn't seem so bad when the phone arrives twenty days earlier. It's entirely possible Amazon will be getting stocks in around the same time, though, and just hasn't updated its site yet. In that case, you may want to hold-off on a pre-order until we're a little closer to the proposed release date.

Admittedly, the ChaCha isn't for everyone, and there's bit of a disconnect between the smartphone'sBlackBerry-like form factor and its emphasis on social networking that may be more in tune to a younger audience. The big questions is if that group will take to the ChaCha's no-nonsense design, or instead seek out phones that are a little flashier, with larger screens and faster processors (at 600MHz, the ChaCha is far from the cutting edge of smartphone hardware).

After the ChaCha hits Europe this June, we expect it to make its way to the US, where it could be carried on AT&T, at least according to the HTC documentation we've come across. None of this is set in stone, but right now it's looking like a good possibility.
